My Favorite Tool For the First Client Meeting (or What I Use to Turn Potential Customers Into Paying Clients)!

So many of my coach-clients ask me, “how do you structure a Sample Coaching Session?” This is SUCH an important topic because, as we all know, if you can WOW your potential customer during the Sample Session, you are well on your way to serving that person as their coach.

One of the easiest, most effective tools I use to structure my Sample Coaching Sessions AND knock the socks off of a potential client during the Sample Session is this:

The Wheel Of Life

Why do I love this tool so much?

1. Updated Wheel of LifeIt provides focus. When you have someone complete a WOL prior to the coaching session (and then use that completed WOL in your session), it provides a rich context and direction, which creates a FOCUS for your coaching session relevant to the client. You can almost guarantee the potential client that they will walk away with a new perspective, idea, or action around something of deep meaning to them. When you can start the relationship off by helping in that way, you are viewed as having tremendous value and, consequently, are more likely to be hired.

2. It’s provocative. Have you ever done a WOL for yourself? It’s always an exercise in enlightenment. More often than not, our Wheels are less-than-ideal in shape; some areas are more inflated than others. It’s rare that any of us take the time to look at our lives in this way, and it almost always spurs a response that can be rich grist for the coaching mill.

3. It is easy and compelling. Filling out a WOL takes just a minute or two of your client’s time. Better still, a minute or two more and you can, at a glance, see what areas of the client’s life are most challenging, satisfying, etc. SUCH as easy tool to use!

If you have tools that you LOVE to use, please share them with the Good Vibe Tribe, my online community of coaches. To join, simply go to www.facebook.com/groups/charitisgoodvibetribe and request to be added. All are welcome.

You deserve to have the life and business you desire, which begins with having clients to serve. The WOL is a profound tool for use in creating awareness, focus, and structure for a successful Sample Coaching Sessions, one that ultimately turns potential customers into paying clients!
