Round out your summer with some GREAT reads: NON-FICTION

Charitis Reading Picks Non Fiction

I’m an avid reader, including NON-FICTION books. I have a weak spot (not surprisingly!) for anything that falls within the realm of self-improvement, positive psychology, and/or spirituality.  I regularly suggest to my clients that they read “this book or that one.” This past summer, I’ve found myself recommending three books in particular over and over again, so I must think they’re good! Thought I’d share these titles with you, too, in hopes you might find them helpful.

So, go forth through this late summer, enjoy, and read on!

Taming Your Gremlin – Rick Carson

As a student of Rick Carson’s, I can tell you first-hand that this is some of THE MOST accessible and useful knowledge for HOW to get those awful saboteur, inner-critic, gremlin-like voices inside your head to SHUT UP. It’s a short, easy, and quick read. And I promise you’ll get at least ONE golden nugget from it that you can use right away.

The Female Power Within – Marilyn Gramman and Maureen Walsh

I found this book by happenstance one day years ago while trolling the used book shelves at GOODWILL. It’s become an all-out, absolute favorite of mine. The message is empowering, the spiritual and emotional exercises contained within are worth doing, and the feeling of freedom and release that I got from this little gem made me want to grow wings and fly! If you’re wanting to do some “inner” work on your past so you can do some “outer” work on your future, this one might be just what you need.

How to Meditate – Pema Chodron

There are few who write as eloquently and simply about meditation as Pema Chodron. Pema’s quiet and gentle voice is heard in the words on the page, and her nudges toward the cushion have reignited my own love of meditation. Whether you are just a beginner looking for some simple pointers on “how to get started” or are a seasoned veteran of mindfulness training via meditation, you will find this little book worth the read. Its chapters are short and its message is profound!

So, go forth and enjoy! Happy reading!

Oh—and don’t forget! BIG THINGS ARE ON THE HORIZON FOR FALL! The launch of my new site and brand are unleashed on September 16th! Visit my Facebook page regularly to check out the progress!
