June is a Time of Transition

Hi Coachy Loves.

I wanted to just pop in today because it’s June now. Something always happens in June that I tend to forget about each year. That is that June is a time of transition.

For a lot of us coach solopreneurs, June is a time when we start to see some clients slide, meaning a lot of our clients will either drop out or new clients aren’t coming in as abundantly as they might be at other times during the year.

It’s also a time for those of us with children when the kids getting out of school for the summer and that’s a big transition period for families in terms of schedule.

I found myself yesterday, especially just getting off of vacation, feeling really angsty at times and short-fused because I wasn’t getting a lot of stuff done with work. I felt like June was already halfway done and I hadn’t gotten shit accomplished, which is not true. It’s never true. My gremlins like to fuck with me like that, but it’s never true.

Then I went to an event last night with my friend Julie, who is also a coach, a wonderful health coach. She and I were talking about sometimes in the summer when you’ve got the craziness of summer going on and sometimes you just want the summer to be a little more chilled out. Whatever it is, families switching schedules, travel, vacation, whatever, you have to remember that sometimes that means that business isn’t always a top priority. And that’s okay. It’s actually okay. It might just be that way for a little while, a day here, a day there. But as Julie put it so eloquently, it’s gonna be what it’s gonna be. To try and fight against it otherwise makes the whole summer feel shitty, for lack of a better word.

Summer’s not supposed to be a time that feels shitty. It’s supposed to be a time where you feel more free and where you feel more at one with nature a little bit, and maybe even relaxed, right? Spring is a time of rapid growth, if you think about the seasons, and fall is a time of harvest. And in-between those two times nature intends for us to kick back a little bit.

So, follow that lead of nature and give yourself this grace and this time to let it be what it will be. Have a good day!
